A 1st Home is a clean tech company advancing an innovative manufacturing process for net-zero, cost-efficient, prefabricated affordable modular housing.

Using industrialized construction with our innovative prefabricated component construction strategy and combined with energy-model design and renewable technology, A 1st Home has created a new era in modular home design, manufacturing  and delivery.

Every other modular home builder still uses a system of creating components or sub-modules in a factory environment, has them transported to a home site, assembles those components (exposed to the elements) and still requires days if not weeks to complete a house.

One Complete House Every 24 Hours (or Less)!

A 1st Home builds the entire complete house within the factory environment (Mobile Manufacturing Cell or MMC), at the development site, not in days or weeks, but within 24 hours, ready to be delivered to the home site, hooked up to water, electric and sewer and available to move into within 48 hours or less.

A Crisis Built in Slow Motion

Everyone now admits the obvious: we are not building enough homes. The gap is enormous and growing. The United States is short millions of units. Every year we fail to close the distance, it widens. This is not a problem of demand. People want homes. It is a production problem rooted in the fact that residential construction still behaves like a cottage industry.

For decades, construction has operated as if every home were a bespoke commission. Meanwhile, every major industry around it industrialized. Cars moved to assembly lines. Electronics scaled. Aerospace embraced robotics. Food manufacturing standardized. Housing stayed where it was: outdoors, manual, weather-dependent, unpredictable, and almost entirely resistant to technological adoption. Productivity has barely budged in a generation. The result is a system perfectly designed for shortages, delays, and spiraling costs.

The Industrial Era of Housing Has Already Begun

What is finally emerging is an overdue recognition that housing is no longer just a real estate conversation. It has become a technology market. The pressure of chronic undersupply, ambitious climate targets, shifting consumer expectations, and massive capital inflows into climate and infrastructure has forced the sector to evolve. We are not watching the birth of a niche. We are witnessing one of the largest industrial transformations of the decade.

The most interesting part is that the blueprint for scalable housing already exists.

Industrialization, Not Disruption, Is the Real Opportunity

The takeaway is simple. Housing does not need to be disrupted. It needs to be industrialized. We need factory floors instead of fields, data instead of improvisation, and scalable systems instead of artisanal processes. The real question now is not whether housing will industrialize, but which platforms will own the future of building. Because the next generation of homes will not be handcrafted. They will be engineered!

A 1st Home (A1H or the “COMPANY”), is a North Carolina company and the manufacturer of uniquely engineered and constructed affordable, single-family, modular houses is leading the pathway to industrialized construction in the home building industry.

Some of the attributes that set these houses apart from the other modular houses are ;

  • Elegant, energy efficient, cost effective, houses.
  • Manufactured without the use of wood or nails.
  • Extremely low cost of home operation.
  • Fire, moisture, wind and ground movement resistant.
  • Complete, with all appliances, fixtures, interior and exterior finishes.
  • Extremely low cost of operation due to a high R-value and robust materials.
  • FastFab technology offers a rapid return on investment
  • Addresses the critical need for economical housing.
  • Portable manufacturing cell for high volume rapid production at development site.
  • Engineering with Sketchup.
  • Design transfer to computer-controlled hot wire cutting machines for accurate cuts and shaping.
  • No measuring, cutting, nailing or tool belts on factory floor. All components numbered to fit together quickly.
  • Offers a rapid return on investment with less financial exposure for developers

Current model is 1064sq. ft. and comes complete with all appliances, fixtures, and interior & exterior finishes.

We offer a few variations of our houses at present. However, we are not a custom home manufacturer. Our standard model as seen above. It is 1064 SF house and is a 3 bedroom/1 bathroom floorplan. This unit can be expanded to 1400 SF and a 4  bedroom/2 or 2-1/2  bathroom floorplan.  Removing a window in each bedroom and replacing it with an outside door allows for a shared living environment. Or the Standard unit can be basically cut in half to become a small house (ADU) with 1 bedroom/1 bathroom'

All our models come complete with all appliances, fixtures, and interior & exterior finishes.
